Waterloo man arrested after assault in Dike

A Waterloo man was arrested Thursday after allegedly assaulting another man at a business in Dike.

Duane Pedroso, 27, of Waterloo, was arrested just after 7 a.m. Thursday and charged with willful injury, a class D felony, according to the Grundy County Sheriff's Office.

Police say Pedroso allegedly assaulted Alexander Barnes, 23, of Waterloo, at Delta McKenzie Targets in Dike earlier Thursday morning.

Barnes was transported to Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls with a head injury, according to the sheriff's office.

Pedroso remains in the Grundy County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

The incident remains under investigation.
