This year marks the sixth year of "Kids Bowl Free," which allows children across the country to bowl two free games of bowling each day during the summer.

More than 1,200 bowling centers participate in the program, including Maple Lanes in Cedar Falls, Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo, Viper Lanes in Oelwein and Waverly Bowl Inn in Waverly.

Participating bowling alleys across the state can be found at www.kidsbowlfree.com.

Over the past five years, the program has allowed more than 5 million kids to bowl two free games of bowling each day during the summer months.

According to its website, the program was designed by bowling centers to provide a fun, safe way for kids to have fun.
