Waterloo man arrested for murder in gas station shooting

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A Waterloo man is accused of murder after a shooting on Franklin Street several weeks ago.

Antonio Hutchins was arrested Thursday and charged with murder in the first degree in the death of Cederick Matlock.

The shooting happened June 25 at Kum & Go Convenience Store on Franklin Street.

Police arrived to find Cederick Matlock with a gunshot wound to the chest and William Burt, who was shot in the arm.

Matlock was transferred to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Burt was also taken to the hospital and underwent surgery.

Hutchins is being held in the Black Hawk County Jail on a $1 million bond.
