CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

KCVM-FM, better known as 93.5 The Mix, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Marconi Award.

The Marconi Radio Awards recognizes radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting.

"The entire staff at The Mix feels it is humbling to be recognized like this on a national level," said Jim Coloff, owner/station manager, in a written statement. "Even after winning three Crystal Awards in the past, this would be a huge honor to be recognized with a Marconi Award."

KCVM-FM, which is based in Cedar Falls, is competing for the award against KCLR-FM in Columbia, Missouri, KICD-AM in Spencer, WKDZ-FM in Cadiz, Ky., and WLEN-FM in Adrian, Mich., in the Small Market Station of the Year category.

This is the first time KCVM-FM has been named a finalist for the award.

The winners will be announced Sept. 19 at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show in Orlando, Fla.
