Two arrested in Marion robbery Monday

Two men were arrested Monday night after being implicated in an alleged robbery in Marion.

Maurice Dixon Jr., 20, of Cedar Rapids, and Anthony Joseph Dean Jr., 22, of Marion, were arrested and charged with first-degree robbery.

Marion Police were called to a robbery at Hanna Park in Marion just after 7 p.m. Monday. According to their report, an adult victim said he was robbed by two black males displaying a handgun.

The victim said he ran from the two men and they were not able to take anything from him.

According to Marion Police, Dixon Jr. and Dean Jr. were located at around 10 p.m. Monday matching the description given by the victim and driving the vehicle matching the description of the vehicle. The vehicle also contained a BB gun matching the description of the gun used in the robbery.

Both were taken to Linn County Jail.
