WATERLOO (KWWL) -
The Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo will now feature local food in its buffet restaurant.
The revamped restaurant now features goods from 18 Iowa growers and farmers, and is now called "Farmers Pick."
It opened Monday with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Waterloo Mayor Buck Clark and members of the Greater Cedar Valley Alliance.
"It's allowing us to showcase their food on our buffet and use our talents on how to makes these items into something really great," said Thomas Roberts, Senior Director of Hospitality Operations for The Isle.
He also said the coordinating efforts for this project have lasted two years.
