Military Brides receive free wedding dress through charitable organization

A national charitable organization is helping military brides-to-be all over the United States receive free wedding dresses and certain bridal salons. Brides Across America is a charitable organization that works with different bridal salons across America to give away wedding gowns to military fiances in honor of our troops and to say thank you for serving.

Zazou's Bridal Boutique in Dubuque is one bridal boutique that is partnering with Brides Across America. During the giveaway, military brides are able to come in and receive a free designer wedding dress chosen out of select styles.

Jodi Stricker is owner of Zazou's Bridal Boutique. She says the organization is something that is important to her.

"We do realize that it can be extremely hard for a brides to plan their weddings due to deployment, all sorts of reasons. This is just one little way that we can help and give back." Stricker said.

Kah Shireman is a general manager at Zazou's Bridal Boutique. She says it has been emotional for her to help these brides pick out their dresses.

"It's a little overwhelming. We definitely deal with the situation as a regular bride. But (with military brides) the conversations of helping her and feeling her emotions and what she is going throughout defiantly makes you respect the time you have with your spouse or significant other." Shireman said.

Brides Across America will continue Saturday.
