Cedar Valley Humane Society closing its thrift shop

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The Cedar Valley Humane Society is closing the Second Chance Thrift Store. The store opened in May 2012 to help support the humane society. Both are in Cedar Rapids. Humane society employees say the shop was generating enough money to keep it open.

The thrift store will hold a liquidation sale. All items in the store will be sold for half price.

The shop will no longer accept donations, however, any gently used pet-related items may be taken to the humane society.

The thrift store will close on August 9, 2013.
