IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

An Iowa City man is in jail after holding police at bay for 3 hours Sunday morning.

Police say it started around 2:30 a.m. after police tried to pull over the driver of a suspicious vehicle, who they believed had a gun in the area of Davis Street.

They say the driver then abandoned his car and ran into a home in the 2000 block of Taylor Drive.

The Iowa City Special Response Team and negotiators tried to talk with him starting around 7:30 a.m.

3 hours later, they found the man hiding in the attic of the home.

21-year-old Torian Cleggette is in the Johnson County Jail facing charges on previously existing warrants.

Police say additional charges are possible.

No-one was hurt.
