People in Cedar Rapids celebrated the Fourth of July and honored wounded veterans Saturday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The 2nd annual Praise In The Park event collected donations that go to either wounded veterans or local food banks. The festival featured live bands, veteran speakers and at the end of the night, a fireworks show. Organizers say its just a great way to honor veterans.
"We're here to honor the people that have served to support them and to bring the community together and just celebrate this beautiful day that god has given us.," said Jon Wilson, one of the organizers.
With the help of over 300 volunteers, all proceeds from the festival stay right here in the Cedar Rapids community.
