Cedar Rapids is in a patriotic mood as today is the biggest day for their annual Freedom Festival.

The celebration actually starts in June and comes to an end on the Fourth of July.

There are plenty of food and drink options, kids activities such as inflatables, and live music playing all day.

Organizers say its not just a great celebration of the Fourth, but of Cedar Rapids itself.

"I think what we have been able to do is really highlight a lot of the key points of downtown that maybe haven't been utilized," said Brandon Busbee, director of marketing and operations for the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival. "A lot of people maybe still haven't been downtown to see the revitalization, so we really wanted to be the catalyst to help to give people a reason to come downtown, walk around and check it out."

The Freedom Festival wraps up tonight with the 30th anniversary fireworks show.
