CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Cedar Rapids police have arrested a man in connection with the June murder of Clifton West.

Police arrested Stephen Johnson, 39, of Cedar Rapids, and charged him with first-degree murder.

Johnson is currently in the Linn County Jail.

West was stabbed on June 25, according to police. They found him in the 1500 block alley between 5th and 6th Avenues SE.

West was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

The investigation is ongoing, but police say there is no threat to the public at this time.
