WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A third-shift supervisor at John Deere injured on the job last week died of his injuries, hospital officials and Deere officials confirmed Monday.

John Deere officials confirm that Stan Delagardelle, a supervisor on the third shift working in service parts operation at the Westfield site in Waterloo, died of his injuries.

Delagardelle's obituary notes he died on Saturday, June 29. He was 54.

Delagardelle was a 1977 graduate of Columbus High School in Waterloo and received his associate's degree in civil engineering from Hawkeye Community College, according to his online obituary.

He married Sherrie Beasley Eldridge on Oct. 5, 1992, in Hawaii.

He is survived by his wife; his mother, Donna Wilson Delagardelle, of Waterloo; two brothers, four sisters, two step-daughters and five grandchildren.

Services for Delagardelle will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

A public visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service in Waterloo.

Delagardelle had been taken to Allen Hospital after being struck by a forklift Tuesday and then transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where he remained in the intensive care unit as late as Friday, according to hospital officials on Friday.

John Deere spokesman Ken Golden confirmed Delagardelle's name but said he did not know how many years the man had worked at Deere.

Golden said the company would be releasing no other information about Delagardelle or about the incident.
