Man dies after accident at John Deere plant in Waterloo

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A John Deere employee has died after an accident earlier this week.

According to a John Deere spokesman, he was identified as stan delagardelle. He man was struck by a forklift while working on the third shift at the Service Parts Operation on Westfield Avenue on Tuesday, according to Ken Golden, Director of Global Communications for John Deere.

The Waterloo Fire Department confirms that one person was taken from the facility to Allen Hospital on Tuesday.

"Our concern is first and foremost with the employee and his loved ones," Golden said in a written statement. "A Deere representative has been at the hospital continuously with the family since the accident."
