Jesup woman dies in crash; Oelwein man charged

BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL) -

The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office confirmed Katlyn Leekley, 20, of Jesup died after a motorcycle crash that happened this weekend.

Sheriff Tony Thompson said Bryan Allen Cornwell, 22, of Oelwein has been charged with vehicular homicide.

Leekley and 24-year old Derek Martie were taken to a hospital in Iowa City after deputies said Cornwell struck the motorcycle they were riding and left the scene.

According to police reports, Cornwell was arrested eight miles away from the crash site under suspicion of operating while intoxicated.
