UPDATE: Driver killed in highway accident near Norway

One man is dead after a crash on Highway 30, approximately four miles north of Norway.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. 

Benton County authorities say the vehicle was traveling in the West bound lane when it left the roadway and struck a field driveway. It then came to rest in a farm field.

The reason for the accident is unknown.

Authorities say The driver, 53-year-old Tony Yerkes of Belle Plaine was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
