Waterloo Police make arrest after high speed chase

One man is facing traffic charges after leading police on a high speed chase in Waterloo Thursday night.

It happened just after 8 p.m. Police say the driver tried to flee from police near the area of Albany and Lewis Streets.

The chase ended after the vehicle left Martin Luther King Drive and drove onto nearby train tracks.

Police say the man then exited the vehicle and proceeded to run from police on foot. Police managed to arrest the man. His name is not being released at this time, but police say he faces a series of traffic charges.
