WAVERLY (KWWL) -

Three Waverly teenagers have been running for a week across the state to raise awareness about malaria.

Ethan Wise and his friend Brad Wylam are in the process of running 350 miles across the state.

Their other friend, Scott Van Daalen, is driving the route and serving as support for the teens.

With one week down, the teens are set to finish in Dubuque on July 2 as scheduled, despite running into some severe weather along the way.

The teens have been speaking at area churches and media outlets along the route to raise awareness about malaria and funding for malaria research.
