WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo Public Schools will be offering additional learning opportunities during the summer through Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) camps.

Orange Elementary and George Washington Carver Academy have partnered with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and Black Hawk County Extension and Outreach to offer the camps.

Two daylong camps will be offered at Carver Academy June 17-21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kids will get to delve into Robotics and Virtual Reality Education Pathfinders (VREP). The programming for both camps will challenge students to strengthen their skills in critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and collaboration.

Orange Elementary's summer STEM Club will be meeting at the Cedar Valley Arboretum once a week throughout the summer for volunteer work and to maintain a vegetable garden.

Programs at Orange and Carver are supported through a grant from the Vice President for Extension and Outreach (VPEO) at Iowa State University.

George Washington Carver Academy is located at 1505 Logan Ave. in Waterloo.
