Johnson County Sheriff's deputy involved in crash

JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL) -

The Iowa State Patrol says a Johnson County Sheriff's deputy was involved in a crash on Friday afternoon while responding to a call.

According to a crash report released by the state patrol, the fully marked sheriff's vehicle was headed west on Highway 382 with lights and sirens activated at about 3:52 p.m. when it collided with a minivan at the intersection with Polk Avenue. The sheriff's vehicle ended up in the ditch, striking a culvert.

One person was injured and taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

No names have been released and the accident remains under investigation.
