Authorities investigate small explosion, fire at Postville plant

POSTVILLE (KWWL) -

Allamakee County officials are investigating a small explosion that lead to a fire at a processing plant in Postville.

Emergency management coordinator Chris Dahlstrom said the blast happened around 2:20 a.m. Monday at the Norplex-Micarta plant on Lybrand Street.

He says the fire was put out quickly.

The state fire marshal is expected to investigate the cause of the explosion. 

No word on any injuries.
