The Iowa State Patrol says a head-on crash in Johnson County on Thursday night injured two people.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, two vehicles -- one driven by Timothy Kriz, 28, of Iowa City and one driven by Charles Gay, 90, of Iowa City -- crashed head-on into each other on Prairie du Chien Road just north of 320th Street at around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Both were taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Kriz was taken by helicopter, Gay was taken by ambulance.

The accident remains under investigation.
