CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

The Cedar Falls Police Department says a Cedar Falls woman was injured Thursday morning when her motorcycle collided with a truck.

Officers say 48-year-old Trina Cheever was eastbound on Lone Tree Road at about 7:40 a.m. when a truck driven by 42-year-old Anthony Wendling of Waterloo, which was also headed east on Lone Tree Road, made a U-turn at the intersection of Big Woods Road and the two collided.

Cheever was taken to Allen Hospital in Waterloo and then transferred to The University of Iowa Hospitals And Clinics. Police say she received serious injuries.

Wendling, who was driving a flatbed truck owned by Benton's Building Center, was cited for failure to yield upon making a U-Turn.

The intersection was closed for approximately two hours.
