Child endangerment charge dropped against Iowa couple

Posted: Updated:
DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Child endangerment charges filed against a Des Moines couple nationally recognized for being loving parents to adopted children have now been dropped.

Damien Stovall, 38, and Allonna Stovall, 37, were charged in April accused of using a belt or wooden spoon to punish their children.

Court records show those charges were dismissed without prejudice meaning charges can be refilled.

The couple received an award for adopting in Washington, D.C. last fall.
