JOHNSON COUNTY (KWWL) -

A new report says Johnson County is one of the healthiest counties in the nation for children.

U.S. News released America's 50 Healthiest Counties for Kids on Tuesday.

Johnson County ranked 12th on the list. It was the only county in Iowa to make the list.

The report used data from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, which ranks the health of nearly every county in the nation.

Some of the factors that were considered in the rankings included low birthrate, infant death rate, teen birth rate, the number of children living in poverty and the injury death rate for people 19 and younger.
