DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Tuesday, the new leader of the Clark Cup champion Dubuque Fighting Saints met with the media.

After two league championships in three years-- the Fighting Saints turn over the reigns of the USHL's most successful franchise..

To 47 year-old Matt Shaw becomes the fighting Saints new head coach and General Manager. Shaw brings 20 years of coaching experience to Dubuque--including the last six years with New Jersey Devils of the NHL.

Shaw talks about keeping Dubuque at a championship level;"We're going to look to build on the foundation that's laid here, and with that is, we don't need anybody that believes the name on back more than the name on the front. We need people that are going to mold into a team and think of the team before themselves, and I think that's what successful hockey breeds."

Shaw replace Jim Montgomery who left to become the head coach at the Denver University.
