Denver girls soccer beat Columbus to make first state appearance

DENVER (KWWL) -

The Denver girls soccer team beat Columbus 1-0 in overtime to advance to the first state berth in school history.  The game was scoreless through 80 minutes of regulation, and then three minutes into overtime the Cyclones' Elizabeth Sage beat Sailors goal keeper Meredith Bailey to the ball for the game winning goal.  Denver will face top ranked Assumption on Thursday in the first round of state.
