Cedar Rapids officials talk about flood response

Posted: Updated:
CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The City of Cedar Rapids escaped the floodwaters without much damage.

Cedar Rapids officials say they were pleased with their flood response efforts.

Officials say they planned for more than what was even forecasted, and the city incorporated many lessons learned from the floods of 2008.

Sixty-thousand sand bags were put together in the City of Cedar Rapids over the past week.

The crest was the tenth highest in Cedar Rapids history and the highest one since the floods of 2008.
