Boys State Semifinal Round Soccer

Starting off with Iowa City West, the top seeded Trojans would look to get past Cedar Rapids Kennedy.

No score in the first half, but that would change year, West High's Jayson Guymon breaks up the early tie.

The Trojans would add another - as they do their part advancing with a 2, 0 victory.

The biggest crowd of the weekend would watch the City High - Johnston game tonight.

Tied at one in the first half -- on the corner kick -- Luke Mennen gets taken down in the box -- that would result in a penalty kick.

And City High's Fernando Pecheco would make it count -- that goal would end up being the difference. City High also gets through to the final with the 2, 1 win. In the Class One-A semfinals, Kyle Grover of Dyersville Beckman scored two sensationals goals -- to lead the Blazers to a 3-0 victory over Nevada. The school that knocked Beckman out of the state tournament last year.

Unbeaten and top ranked Beckman advances to face Iowa City Regina in the state title game on Saturday.

Regina crushed West Liberty. Emilio Tovar scores the final goal as Regina wins 4-0 to make it back to the 1A title game.And in 2-A. Waverly-Shell Rock looking to make it to its first state championship game comes up short as Storm Lake scores a golden goal in the second overtime to send the Go-Hawks home with a heartbreaking 1-0 loss.

Storm Lake will face Cedar Rapids Xavier in the title game. The Saints got two goals from Isaac Frisch and Cedar Rapids Xavier rallies to beat Pella 2-1 in double overtime to claim a berth in Saturday's 2A Championship.
