Dubuque closes flood gates due to rising Mississippi River

Posted: Updated:
DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The City of Dubuque says they have closed the Ice Harbor flood gates due to the continued rise of the Mississippi River.

The closing of the gates means that the boat docks at the Port of Dubuque Marina are inaccessible to boaters.

The city still plans to hold the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the marina and the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium's Mississippi Plaza on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The public is invited and the city says both facilities will be open to the public until 1 p.m.
