BUTLER COUNTY (KWWL) -

"We've got a total disaster as far as clean up. It's going to take a lot of hands to help cut these trees up or drag them out," said Mary Schipper of rural Greene.

"We've never had this much damage here," she said of the property she's lived at since the 1980s.

Schipper and her husband Byron think strong winds are to blame for uprooting and knocking over more than 20 trees on their 8-acres of land in Butler County.

"They didn't get twisted. They just all fell over, snapped off and fell over," she said.

Though the Schippers estimate they've lost about 80 percent of their trees, they still consider themselves fortunate since no one was hurt.

They said family members and neighbors helped clean up one of the trees that fell on their garage during Wednesday's storm.

"We're fortunate it didn't take our house. Things can be replaced. We're all safe and that's the main thing," said Schipper.
