CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

The Cedar Falls Community School District now has a new superintendent.

The school board announced Wednesday that Dr. Andy Pattee, the current superintendent in Charles City and Riceville, will start on July 1.

Pattee graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with his BA in 1998 and then continued his education up to his doctorate from Drake University.

Pattee worked his way up from a ninth-grade teacher in the Oskaloosa Community School District. He taught from 1998 to 2001.

He was the associate superintendent in Oskaloosa from 2001 to 2005 before he became the high school principal in 2005.

He kept that position until 2008 before he took the superintendent position in Charles City.
