GRUNDY COUNTY (KWWL) -

A second straight morning of heavy rains forced some highways to shut down over Memorial Day weekend.

Some of the heaviest rainfall occurred in Grundy, Marshall, and Tama Counties.

Authorities had to shut down Highway 14 between Grundy Center and Conrad because of water over the road for hours.

Emergency crews had to rescue at least one person from their vehicle during the storm in that area.

Part of the exit ramp off Highway 20 at Wellsburg was closed as well.

Other roads affected by closures include Highway 65 south of Hampton, Highway 57 near Parkersburg, Highway 14 near Marshalltown, and Highway 330 near Albion.

Authorities say if there appears to be water over the road, "Turn around.  Don't drown."
