Organizations gathering supplies to send to Oklahoma tornado victims


A handful of organizations across Eastern Iowa are rounding up donations for victims of the EF5 tornado that ravaged Moore, Oklahoma this week.

Items needed are non-perishable food items, flashlights, batteries, manual can openers, tarps, toiletries, and cases of water.

Cedar Falls:

Lockard Companies is accepting donations to be loaded onto a truck that will depart Friday afternoon.

People can donate toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, deodorant for women and men, shaving cream for women and men, razors, diapers of every size, baby wipes, underwear for women and men and kids of all sizes, hairbrushes, and facial tissues.

Also Lockard is accepting easily packaged foods like dry goods, packaged foods like fruit roll-ups, and granola bars.

Checks can be made payable to Norman Regional Health Foundation.

Lockard's office will be open on Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to accept donations, with the truck leaving Friday night or Saturday morning.


Drop off items at Green Acres Storage from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday and 12:30-4 p.m. Friday.
