CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -
The first of four finalists for Cedar Falls' next superintendent was welcomed to town today.

Community members met Dr. Andy Pattee at a reception this evening. The event was just a fraction of Pattee's visit, which also included a district tour, meetings with administration and staff and an interview with the school board.

Pattee currently serves as the superintendent for the Charles City Community School District, where he's been for five years.

He was also a finalist for the superintendent vacancy at Cedar Falls just this past year.

The man who earned that job, Mike Wells, will step down from his post as Cedar Falls Schools Superintendent following the current school year.

The school district will host three more candidates later this week. The board hopes to make a decision by late May.
