CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Some Cedar Valley elementary students are getting a unique look at the area's history -- through the eyes of other students who live there.

Third-grade students from Cunningham in Waterloo and Southdale in Cedar Falls took a trolley tour through both towns Friday.

It was a chance for students in both cities to learn about the world just a few miles away.

"The Waterloo kids will be giving a tour for the Cedar Falls students in downtown Waterloo, and then the Cedar Falls students will do the same thing for the Waterloo kids, because they don't get to see each other's downtown," said Annette Freeseman from the Grout Museum District, which helped organize the ride.

Some of the sites students looked at included the Blackhawk Hotel, Ice House Museum and George Wyth State Park.
