CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -
The streets in Cedar Rapids' Czech Village neighborhood closed down for a festival. The weekend brought the 36th Annual Houby Days, a celebration of Czech culture.
Houby is Czech for mushrooms but the festival has more than morels to offer. There's all kinds of food and carnival rides.
The goal for the weekend is to get more people into the Czech Village area, hoping they'll come back even when there's no festival going on.
"It's really about the community," said Pam Imerman, Czech Village Association Treasurer. "It's really about the village and helping all the people come back from the flood and bring people down and let them know we're still here and having a good time."
