IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Thousands of students flipped their tassels and received their diplomas Saturday.

It was graduation day at the University of Iowa. The ceremony for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences was held inside Carver Hawkeye Arena.

As the graduates receive their diplomas marking years of hard work, many are excited for what the future holds.

"It's crazy," said Natalie Conlon, a Dubuque Native who received a degree in psychology. "It's so surreal. I can't believe it's actually happening. Like, it feels like I'm in a dream right now. I can't believe I'm actually graduating and I can't wait. I can't wait for what's to come."

There were five ceremonies held Saturday for University of Iowa graduates. More than 5,000 people graduated from the university this spring.
