Gladbrook-Reinbeck students participate in Mini Relay For Life

Students, teachers and staff with Gladbrook-Reinbeck schools participated in the Fourth Annual Mini Relay For Life.

"We raised money for cancer, and then we walked to support them," said Eighth grader Sasha Nagle.

Many of the students raised money through "Coins for a cCure" where students collected and donated loose change.

On Friday afternoon, the students hit the track for 30 minutes to show their support for all those who've lost their lives to cancer and for those who are currently battling cancer.

"My great-grandfather just had surgery on his tongue, and he just had a cancerous cell removed," said Sasha Nagle.

Nagle is an eighth grader at Gladbrook-Reinbeck. She was one of the main organizers of this year's event.

"It's a great event and fun to plan," she said.

In total, more than 350 students in kindergarten through eighth grade participated in the Mini Relay For Life. The students are sure yet how much money they raised.
