Fighting Saints down Fargo 3-2 to win Clark Cup

FARGO (KWWL) -

The Clark Cup is coming back to Dubuque.  The Fighting Saints defeated Fargo in a 3-2 overtime thriller to capture the cup for the second time in three years.  Frankie Dichiara scored the game winning goal on a 3-2 charge at 8:17 in to overtime.

Like much of the postseason, Dubuque fell behind 1-0 in the first period, but rallied for the win.  Brandon Carlson tipped in a second period goal as the two teams went to the third period tied 1-1.

Peter Quenneville tallied a goal early in the final frame, but Fargo, playing 6 on 5 in the final minute scored with 29 seconds remaining to force the overtime.  That would only set up Dichiara's heroics, however, as Dubuque returned the cup to the Key City.
