CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

All this month, KWWL has been showing viewers how eastern Iowa has recovered from the floods and tornados five years ago. It's a project we call "Un-Natural Disasters +5."

Monday on the KWWL News at 10, Michelle Corless will show viewers how Cedar Rapids has recovered from the devastating floods of 2008.

You'll hear from people who lost their homes from flooding and learn why it was so important to the city to rebuild.

City leaders feel Cedar Rapids has left the flood recovery process behind and are now in a rebuilding phase. Construction on many projects has been completed and others will be opening in the coming months.

City officials believe that, thanks to their investment in helping the city recover, private investments have poured in that will help the city grow in the future.
