The afternoon session got going with the girls 2-A 3-thousand -- it was a 1-2 finish for West Branch twins Courtney and Lindsey Bruns -- Courtney took top honors for the second straight year --

And it was a 3-peat in class 3-A -- Waverly-Shell Rock's Anna Holdiman blew away the field as she becomes just the 7th 3-time 3-thousand champ in state history --

On to boys class 2A - 32-hundred meters -- Monticello's Michael Melchert edged teammate JJ Frawley for the win --

The Panthers would later turn in a historic performance -- Dallas Lumpa brought the 4 x 8 team home in under 7:54 breaking a 13 year old record --

The Wahlert girls dominated their 3a race -- Abby Denlinger brought them home 9 seconds ahead of second place Assumption

Jasmine Staebler of Clayton Ridge -- last year's 1-A 400 champ -- would repeat this time in 2A as she held off Hudson's Maddie Belle --

Anamosa got a title in 3-A -- Olivia Loy took top honors as the junior picked up her first state win in the event --
