The grand opening for the remodeled U.S. Cellular Center and the new DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel has been scheduled for Friday, May 31, the City of Cedar Rapids announced on Thursday. The grand opening for the remodeled U.S. Cellular Center and the new DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel has been scheduled for Friday, May 31, the City of Cedar Rapids announced on Thursday.

A ribbon cutting will be held at 1 p.m. in the atrium of the U.S. Cellular Center, followed by self-guided tours of the arena and the hotel from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The public is welcome to attend these events.

Then, at 6 p.m., the doors to the U.S. Cellular Center will open for a free concert. VenuWorks will announce the act early next week. A ticket will be required to attend that concert.

The following night, Saturday, June 1, Lady Antebellum will play a concert at the U.S. Cellular Center.
