FAYETTE COUNTY (KWWL) -

There were some scary moments on one Fredericksburg school bus Friday afternoon when the driver couldn't immediately stop the bus.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says Mary Alcine Burgart, 60, of Sumner, was headed south on W Avenue at around 4:22 p.m. when she called 911 and said she could not stop the bus.

Deputies say Burgart was finally able to stop the bus in the 18000 block of W Avenue and got all the passengers off the bus.

According to the sheriff's office, an investigation determined that a mechanical malfunction caused the throttle to stick.

There was no damage to the bus and no injuries were reported.
