A Waterloo man has died after being injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday evening.

Richard Meeks, 60, of Waterloo, died after being hospitalized at Covenant Medical Center for injuries sustained after his motorcycle struck another motorcycle at the intersection of Gilbertville Road and Birdland Drive south of Elk Run Heights around 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Meeks apparently rear-ended another motorcycle driven by James Schares, 41, of Waterloo, according to the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office.

Schares refused treatment for minor injuries.
