CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

Some Cedar Rapids kids are helping moms living in shelters have a happier Mother's Day.

On Thursday, kids at La Petite Academy and West Cedar Rapids KinderCare donated items for the women.

The kids brought in things like shampoo and soap. Some even brought in stuffed animals for the women's children.

It's part of a national program called Movers for Moms run by the Two Men and a Truck company.

"A lot of our customers are moms who just need a hand with things," said Klint Koether, General Manager. "We just took it as the perfect opportunity to help out the customers around the area, moms in general that are in need."

Two Men and a Truck drove around to several locations in Cedar Rapids picking up donations. The items went to women at Waypoint and Catholic Charities.
