Part of Highway 63 will be closed for construction starting Monday.
Highway 63 in Waterloo between the Newell-Conger Street intersection and Donald Street in Waterloo will be shut down to allow for railroad and utility work. That work is the initial preparation for the reconstruction of Highway 63 through Waterloo, which will happen over a two-year period.
Drivers are asked to follow marked detours along 63, 218, Broadway, Airport Boulevard and Airline Highway. The road is expected to be closed for about a month.
