Saints shut out Youngstown, advance to Clark Cup finals

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Arthur Brey turned away all 23 shots sent his way as the Dubuque Fighting Saints dropped Youngstown 4-0 in the deciding 5th game.  The win put the Saints in to the Clark Cup finals for the second time in the last 3 years.

After a scoreless first period, Dubuque forward Jared Privitera drove a rebound back between the keepers legs for the first goal of the night.  The second came a minute later on a scramble in front of the net.  Evan Janssen got an open net on the left side and took advantage for the 2-0 lead.  The Fighting Saints got the third on a nice cross-ice pass from Frank Dichiara that was driven home by Shane Sooth.  Janssen closed the scoring with an empty netter in the 4th.

Dubuque will open the finals at home on Friday against the winner of the Fargo, Sioux Falls series.  Fargo currently leads 2 games to 1, and can close it out on the road Sunday afternoon.
