One of the three people accused of torturing a dog, nicknamed Caleb by the public, is asking for charges to be thrown out.

According to public court documents, a motion to dismiss the charge against A.J. Sellers was filed on Friday.

That motion will be discussed on July 5 in Buchanan County Court.

Sellers, Kelsey Block and Ty Hickman all face charges of animal torture after a dog was found starved to death and left covered in feces in a crate in Jesup in February.

Kelsey Block's trial is set for June 5, and Ty Hickman's trial is on July 24.
