FLOYD TOWNSHIP (KWWL) -

Floyd County Sheriff Rick Lynch says the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has taken the lead on the case of 24 guns that were stolen from a Floyd Township business.

Lynch says someone parked in a driveway on the north side of Gilbert's Sale Yard on May 2, went through a door on the west side of the building and stole 20 handguns and four long guns.

Gilbert's Sale Yard is located at 1406 Highway 218 in Floyd Township. Lynch says the burglary happened between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.

He says all of the guns have been entered into the National Crime Information Center computer system as stolen. The Floyd County Sheriff's Office is now assisting ATF with the investigation.
